The Volusia Flagler Sierra Club has been Central Florida's voice for environmental protection, conservation, and outdoor recreation for decades. We are a grassroots organization dedicated to preserving our region's unique ecosystems for future generations.

What We Do
🌊 Water Protection
We advocate for the protection of Central Florida's springs, rivers, and coastal waters. Our members monitor water quality, oppose harmful development near water bodies, and promote sustainable water management practices.
🌳 Habitat Conservation
We work to preserve critical wildlife habitats, protect endangered species, and maintain wildlife corridors throughout Volusia and Flagler counties. This includes supporting land acquisition and restoration projects.
🏛️ Smart Growth Advocacy
We participate in local planning processes to promote responsible development that protects natural areas, reduces sprawl, and creates sustainable communities for the future.
Our Local Impact
The Volusia Flagler Sierra Club has successfully advocated for the protection of thousands of acres of natural habitat, improved water quality standards, and sustainable development practices throughout Central Florida. We've helped establish conservation easements, supported the creation of state parks, and educated thousands of community members about environmental issues.
Leadership & Organization

Our Conservation Priorities
🌊 Springs & Water Quality
Protecting Central Florida's world-famous springs system from over-pumping, pollution, and development impacts. We monitor water quality and advocate for sustainable water use policies.
🌳 Forest & Wildlife Protection
Conserving remaining natural forests, wetlands, and scrub habitats that provide critical wildlife corridors and support endangered species like the Florida scrub-jay and gopher tortoise.
🏖️ Coastal Conservation
Protecting our coastline from sea level rise, overdevelopment, and pollution. We support dune restoration, responsible beach access, and marine habitat protection.
⚡ Clean Energy Transition
Promoting renewable energy development, energy efficiency, and policies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions while protecting natural areas from harmful energy projects.
